allRPNCalc is a versatile calculator that uses the powerful Reverse Polish Notation logic system combined with an automated 4 level stack to compute answers to complex mathematical problems. The keyboard layout and display have been optimized for use on an iPhone,iPod Touch and iPad. Large keys with sound feed back give you typing confidence and the last function keyed is always displayed. Functions are logically laid out to eliminate multiple key entry for most problems.

Display: Results are displayed in fixed, fraction, scientific or engineering notation with from 0 to 14 significant digits displayed. In programmer’s mode hex, decimal, octal or binary (with windowing) can be displayed. Calculations are carried out in industry standard IEEE double format with 14+ significant digits and exponents ranging +/-308.

Math: +, -, ×, ÷, ln, log, e^x, 10^x, y^x, x², x³, 1/x, √x, ∛x, fraction part, integer part, absolute value, random, seed, mod

Trigonometry: sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sinh, cosh, tanh, asinh, acosh, atanh, to radians, to degrees, to rectangular, to polar, to hours, to hours minutes seconds, hours minutes seconds add and subtract, triangle solver, π, π/2. Trig functions can be computed in radians, degrees or gradians.

Statistics: sum plus, sum minus, mean, weighted mean, standard deviation, population standard deviation, linear estimate x, y and correlation coefficient, combination, permutation, factorial (gamma), percent, delta percent, percent of total

Programer’s functions: and, or, xor, not, shift left, shift right, rotate left, rotate right, word sizes 8, 16, 32, 48

Conversions: 47 world currencies and over 100 commonly used metric, english and other conversion factors used in scientific, engineering and financial calculations.

Financial: time value of money calculations, n, i, pv, pmt, fv, depreciation (straight line, sum-of-years, declining balance), bond price and yield to maturity, amortization, net present value, internal rate of return, up to 80 cash flows, days between dates, date plus days, rounding.

Storage: 4 level automatic stack with lastX, exchange and roll down, 20 general purpose storage registers, register arithmetic +,-,×,÷ , 6 dedicated registers for statistics, 80 cash flow entries, 5 financial registers.

Pros and cons of allRPNCalc Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

allRPNCalc Calculator app good for

I hope in an update the developer will add statistical funktions like median, modus, absolute and relative frequency, quartils and quantils... that would be great and worth seven stars. now its six :-)
The calculator has all scientifical functions and much more, e.g. conversion of units. It really deserves 5 stars. There is only on little thing you may have got accustomed to: you have to switch to trig functions before you can enter pi (3.14...). But if you know this, it is no problem any more.
(14-Sep-08) If you prefer the RPN entry method you will like this calculator. The keyboard layout makes sense and the functions are well organized into separate menus. Switching display modes is simple, for example, to select "4 decimal places fixed" simply press the display mode indicator at the upper left until it reads "Fix" and then press "4." You can view the contents of all registers (except the triangle solver) via the help menu icon. Key clicks can be turned on or off for quiet locations. The unit converter is intuitive, making good use of the iPhone/iTouch UI methods. And... the factorial (gamma) function operates correctly, with "-0.5 n!" giving the proper result... many calculators get it wrong or throw an error. This app gets nearly everything right. Some minor cleanup of the look (move the help button to top center and extend the static number & four-function keys) and a 64-bit capability in the programmers functions will merit a perfect 5 stars, but really: for a first release this is superb.
Awesome application. I like the functionality even better than my trusty HP - particularly the conversions.
I think this is very good app. May I ask how you can get this for free? #4
Easy to use. I like the built-in conversions and the triangle solver is a nice touch, though it makes it so easy it feels like cheating :) One minor issue that I hope is isolated is that in RAD mode, tan(pi) returns -1.22e-16 instead of 0. Would like to be able to create custom units. Still hoping for a replacement for my TI-89 (CAS, 3D graphing, Symbolic Calculus, programming, etc.). This isnt it, but I replaced several free calculators with this one and freed some home screen space. Considering the TI89 is around $150, I would expect to pay more than $5 for something with similar functionality. Something that reads TI Basic would be great so I dont have to re-write my programs.

Some bad moments

I bought this app because I have been looking for an app that is similar to the HP 17b. Man was I wrong. I have messed with this app for an hour and can not get the financial calculator portion of this app to match my HP 17b. Does anyone know where to find a user friendly app that has true financial calculator capability? Everything I find simple calculates a loan payment or the calculations are wrong.
Very nice rpn calculator just wish the stacks worked like hp 48 gx
I love this APP!!! Best on the market. I go to use it this morning and it says I have demo version and to buy a legal copy......I bought a legal copy ORIGINALY and have been using it for at least 2 years....I even tried to buy another copy but the App Stores shows it as already purchased and wont let me...Im stuck............HELP
